TripTalker: Designing a Community-Driven Travel Platform for Authentic Exploration and Collaboration
Client:
TRIPTALKER
Industry:
Travel
Project Scope:
Product Design
Role:
Head of Designer
The Brief
Triptalker envisioned a platform where travellers could explore, share, and save compact travel stories, all without downloading an app. Think of it as a space where bite-sized itineraries meet the feel of social media: scrollable, engaging, and totally personal. But turning this concept into a usable product meant building a complete UX system from scratch, one that’s not only intuitive but genuinely delightful.
The Challenge
Capturing authentic travel content
Break away from influencer-style polish and encourage users to share real, personal, story-driven travel experiences, complete with highs, lows, and actionable insights.
Simplifying itinerary collaboration
Make group and solo travel planning intuitive and visual. Build a unified system for creating, managing, and sharing itineraries across devices and between users.
Designing for every type of traveller
Cater to both first-time travellers and seasoned explorers. Create a flexible, scalable platform with an approachable interface and tools that adapt to diverse travel styles and complexities.
Our Approach
We focused on creating an interface that felt lightweight, familiar, and friendly. Instead of pushing traditional trip planners, we leaned into what users already enjoy—scrolling, saving, reacting. The design system was built to feel like a travel-first social platform, with clear visual hierarchy, modular UI blocks, and intuitive touchpoints.
